In-Article Video

In-Article placement is an outstream video ad unit that sits within the content and comes into view when user scrolls down, within the paragraph breaks. The video begins to play only when in view. It is available across all SSM sites and provides advertisers with incremental inventory above standard preroll. Please contact your SSM partner for further information.

Video Format What to supply?

Video encoding: H264 (this will produce the best video quality).
File extensions: .mp4, .mov.
Resolution: 854×480 pixels (i.e. 16:9 480p) though we can accept any resolution up to 1920×1080 (i.e. 16:9 1080p)
Aspect ratio: 16:9 though we can accept any aspect ratio.
Important: Please do not add black padding to the video. We will pad the video with black borders as necessary to fit all site placements, i.e. we will automatically adjust 16:9 aspect ratio content to fit 4:3 aspect ratio placements as necessary and vice versa.
Bit rate: Anywhere between 600kbps and 1000kbps though we can handle bit rates up to 3000kbps / 3mbps
We can also accept videos compressed using many older codecs e.g. MPEG4 (Divx), MPEG4 (Xvid) format, with MP3 audio and presented within other file extensions e.g. .avi, .mpg.

Ad Serving Capabilities

Direct video ingestion, VAST and VPAID formats are supported.

Deliverables

Video assets should be provided as MOV/ MP4 via FTP or othe shareable format.

Please liaise with your representative on supplying third party VAST and VPAID assets.

Third party tracking

Click URL (can be clickthrough redirect or other tracking URL).
Optional – for third-party tracking of plays, a tracking pixel (1×1 transparent GIF), only one placement is needed, News/Unruly use the 1×1 pixel for the play, (labelled ‘impression on most third-party tracking reports).
